The Houthis threaten foreign airlines by preventing them from entering the Yemeni airspace

Transport Minister Abdel Salam Hamid revealed threats from the Houthi terrorist militias of foreign airlines by preventing them from entering the Yemeni airspace except with permits issued by their management.
This came during a meeting at the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology in the temporary capital, Aden, to discuss the status of the authority and the course of work in it.
According to the agency, Hamid reviewed the challenges, behaviors and threats practiced by the internationally classified Houthi militias as a terrorist group towards foreign airlines and international organizations aircraft.
He said that the threats included "informing these companies and organizations not to allow their entry into Yemeni airspace except with permits from the Civil Aviation Authority in Sana'a, which is run by these terrorist militias, the most recent of which is the threat of Al -Gibutiya Airlines yesterday, February 3, 2025 AD.
He added that these threats fall within the approach of the aggressive militia against maritime navigation lines in the Red Sea and the Bab al -Mandab and the Arab Sea to threaten Yemeni interests and the regional and international community.
The Minister of Transport emphasized the condemnation and rejection of these threats and taking a number of measures to prevent the recurrence of these aggressive practices towards civil aviation activity.
He also stressed that the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology of the Sharia Government in the temporary capital, Aden, has the legal right to issue permits.
Minister Hamid directed to expedite the completion of the provision of all needs, devices and equipment for the airports of the liberated areas, especially Aden International Airport, by purchasing via tenders.
