The General Administration of Security and Police in Hadhramout Al-Wadi and Sahara Governorate and the Public Prosecution Office, in coordination with the branch of the Central Bank of Yemen, carried out a field expedition to close a number of exchange companies’ shops that violated the laws and procedures of the Central Bank of Yemen. This was in implementation of the directives of the Attorney General, Judge Qaher Mustafa.
The campaign, in which specialists from the Public Funds Prosecution, the Primary and Security Prosecutions, and the Central Bank Branch participated on the first day of the campaign, saw the closure of 29 money exchange shops in the districts of Sayun, Tarim, Al-Qattan, Hoora, Wadi Al-Ain, Al-Abr, and the land deposit outlet that violated the law and did not have a license to practice the profession or whose licenses have expired and who violate the procedures and reforms of the Central Bank of Yemen.
The Director General of Security and Police in the Valley and Desert, Brigadier General Abdullah Salmeen bin Hubaish, directed to strengthen and protect the campaign charged with closing the violating exchange shops in all districts, noting that the police agencies are ready to support the steps of the Central Bank of Yemen in order to protect the national currency and save it from collapse in order to improve the living conditions of citizens. It will strike with an iron hand against anyone who violates the Central Bank law and the directives of the Public Prosecution.
