Professor Ahmed Ahmed Ghaleb - Honorable Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen
After greeting
Subject / Exempting me from the duties of Deputy Governor for Banking Supervision
I had the honor to work under your leadership as an agent for bank supervision for more than two and a half years. We worked together day and night and made all our efforts to try to improve the economic situation of the Yemeni citizen and save what could be saved from the remnants of the Yemeni banking sector. During that period efforts were made, in some we succeeded and in some we failed. In some, you know that we were working alone in the absence of the rest of the official institutions that were supposed to support the tasks of monitoring banks, exchange companies and establishments that have invaded the banking sector since the Houthi militias’ coup against the state.
Mr. Governor, my acceptance to assume the duties of Deputy Governor to supervise banks during a difficult and complex stage and an even more difficult and complex environment, and we worked together to confront all of these challenges and risks, including the threat of liquidation. All of this stems from my conviction and belief in the importance of strengthening the role of state institutions, first and foremost the Central Bank. The Yemeni from the capital, Aden, confronts the new imamate project represented by the Houthi militias.
Mr. Governor, I find myself needing to leave my job position after I earned a lot of hostility there and it has become difficult to exercise banking supervision duties in light of the local and regional changes.
I would like to accept my resignation and assign whomever you see fit to carry out the duties of the Undersecretary of the Banking Supervision Sector until a replacement Undersecretary is appointed.
The period that I worked under your leadership, with all its challenges, will remain a source of pride that I am proud of in my professional life.
I will be ready, outside of my position, to provide any assistance or advice you request from me in the future.
My sincere affection and respect to your honorable person.
Mansour Abdel Karim Rajeh
Deputy Governor for Banking Supervision
