Two soldiers were killed in an attack by tribal militants in eastern Marib, Yemen

Local media reported that two soldiers from the campaign charged with securing the passage of oil company vehicles to the Ghawarban station were killed by unidentified gunmen near the “Abu Janab” area on the international line between Al-Ruwaik and the “Ghawarban” area in Ma’rib Governorate.
She said that the gunmen looted the military equipment belonging to the dead soldiers, before it was recovered by tribal gunmen who were near the site of the incident.
The Marib-Hadhramaut international road witnesses repeated attacks by bandits, which on previous occasions resulted in the death of soldiers and passers-by, while more than a month ago the same road witnessed the kidnapping of two employees of Doctors Without Borders while on their way from Marib to Hadhramaut.
