The Yemeni Public Prosecution announced that it had received a number of reports submitted by the Southern Union for Transparency and Anti-Corruption, stressing that it is investigating them seriously and professionally.
The official spokesman for the Public Prosecution, Judge Anis Jamaan, said in a press statement that the Public Prosecution works in accordance with the powers granted to it by law, and studies all the reports it receives, and takes the necessary legal measures regarding them.
Jamaan explained that the prosecution has already begun investigating a number of these reports, which include accusations of committing corruption crimes in vital sectors, such as the electricity sector. He added that the prosecution has referred some reports related to these communications to the competent regulatory authorities to complete the legal procedures.
The official spokesman stressed that the Public Prosecution will not tolerate any violation of the law, and will work to hold all those involved in corruption cases accountable, regardless of their position or influence.
Jamaan called on citizens to cooperate with the Public Prosecution and provide any information that may help detect and suppress corruption crimes, stressing that the Public Prosecution will work to protect those who report these crimes.
Finally, the official spokesman for the Public Prosecution confirmed that the Public Prosecution, while clarifying this to public opinion, will not tolerate interference in the work of the judiciary from any party, considering that a crime without a statute of limitations.
