The Public Prosecution in Lahj Governorate, Tuesday morning, implemented the legal retaliation ruling against the convict, Mursal Saeed Kabis, by shooting him to death for deliberately and aggressively killing the two victims, Saif bin Saif Hussein and Sharif Naji Hussein, in the courtyard of the Central Prison Administration in Sabar, Tuban District.
The death sentence was executed by firing squad until death after attempts to persuade and encourage the blood relatives of the victims to forgive and pardon, and after the blood guardians refused, and after the judgment and the execution document were read, the sentence was executed in the presence and direct supervision of the head of the appeals prosecution of the Lahj District, Judge Abdul Hamid Haitham bin Jahzer. And the Deputy Prosecutor of Laabous First Instance, Judge Qasim Abdul Rahman, in implementation of the ruling issued by the Laabous First Instance Court No. (1) for the year 1439 AH issued on 9/29/1439 AH corresponding to 5/15/2018 AD, which ruled that the accused, Mursal Saeed Kabis, was convicted and sentenced to death as retaliation, and is supported by the ruling issued. From the Criminal Division of the Lahj Governorate Court of Appeal No. (1) for the year 1440 AH issued on Dhu al-Qa’dah 21, 1440 AH corresponding to 7/24/2019 AD, and approved by Supreme Court ruling No. (1178/190) issued on Jumada al-Awwal 14, 1445 AH corresponding to 11/28/2023 AD, and Directives of His Excellency the Attorney General No. 25 of 2024 issued on 3/18/2024 AD, and based on the approval of His Excellency the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council on 6/4/2024 AD, and on the implementation order issued by His Excellency the Attorney General No. 3/2024 AD on 6/10/2024 AD The judge ordered the completion of the execution procedures, taking into account the urging of the blood relatives to grant absolute pardon or on the condition of blood money, but they adhered to the request for retaliation. The execution was attended by the President of the Southern Judges Club, Judge Hanash Al-Daari, the Deputy Prosecutor for Security, Research and Prisons, Judge Ali Al-Hariri, Judge Fares Salem Ismail, and the Head of the Criminal Registry at the Governorate Appeals Prosecution Office. Lahj Munir Yahya Mohsen Zafar, a number of security men, notables, two guardians of the victims’ blood, and a group of citizens.
The rulings and their implementation come as a result of the efforts exerted by His Excellency the Public Prosecutor, Judge Qaher Mustafa Ali, in his keenness and acceleration of the procedures by ratification before His Excellency the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, which fulfilled their right to legal retribution from the convict, in compliance with the Almighty’s saying: (And for you in retaliation there is life, O you of understanding, that you may May you fear.)
