Yesterday, the Narcotics Control Department in Al-Mahra Governorate was able to arrest three people engaged in the trade of promoting prohibited and narcotic substances in one of the neighborhoods of the city of Al-Ghaydah.
The Deputy Director of the Narcotics Control Department, Captain Muhammad Saad Makhbal, explained that the arrest operations came after monitoring and tracking the movements of the criminals over two consecutive days until they were arrested in one of the residential neighbourhoods. He pointed out that one of the accused tried to clash with the anti-narcotics force using his personal weapon. The force took control of the situation and was able to deal with it according to the rules of engagement.
Captain Makhbal indicated that 22 Captagon pills, half a kilo of narcotic hashish, and a quantity of alcoholic beverages were seized from the defendants who were arrested in two different operations.
The Narcotics Control official reiterated that the Narcotics Control Administration will spare no effort to track down criminals and eliminate this malicious scourge with the combined efforts and cooperation of citizens.
