The work of packing gabion and suclopian baskets has begun for surface bridge No. 1, Al-Anad Al-Habilain Road, located in Sa’il Bala in Lahj Governorate, which is being repaired as part of the emergency intervention project to repair flood damage, which is funded and supervised by the Road and Bridge Maintenance Fund, the main center in the capital, Aden, and under the directives of the Ministry of Public Works. The work was carried out to rehabilitate the bridges in Sa’il Bila immediately after the strong torrential waters stopped flowing, which washed away parts of them. Therefore, immediate action was taken to repair and rehabilitate the bridges, which the Road Fund undertakes with urgent intervention, and is implemented by the General Organization for Bridges, Lahj Branch, to protect traffic. Urgent work is currently being carried out to repair the first bridge located at Al-Anad Al-Habilain, in which Engineer Abbas Ahmed Saleh, Director General of Emergency Maintenance at the Fund, confirms that the stages of emergency intervention are being implemented urgently in accordance with modern engineering standards, pointing out that ongoing efforts are underway. Engineer Abbas noted that many emergency intervention works and projects are ongoing in a number of governorates to target roads damaged by natural disasters, or as a result of old road layers, due to the keenness of the leadership of the Road Fund to rehabilitate roads and bridges with the material and financial capabilities available to serve the population in providing Safe and sound roads, as well as contributing to enhancing various vital activities in the country to achieve sustainable development of the national wealth represented by the national road network.
In turn, Engineer Yasser Abu Al-Ezz, the project manager, explained the ongoing work represented by the work of packing gabions and scallops to support the bridge, stressing the continuation of completion of the remaining phases of the project according to the agreed-upon period and specific technical specifications.
