The Electronic Integrated Early Disease Warning System (EIDEWS) revealed a significant increase in cholera cases in a number of liberated governorates.
According to the latest data issued by the system, the total number of suspected cases of cholera reached 28,596, with 148 deaths related to the disease recorded from the beginning of this year until August 11.
Al Dhalea Governorate topped the list of the most affected governorates, with 6,008 cases recorded, followed by Aden with more than 5,700 cases, then Abyan, Lahj, and Taiz.
The data also indicated that most cases and deaths were concentrated in the governorates of Al-Dhalea, Aden, Abyan, Lahj, and Taiz.
