The security services in Shabwa Governorate arrested a gang working to torture, kidnap, and blackmail Africans arriving in Yemen.
The police indicated that they arrested the so-called (A, A, Musa), 29 years old, married, educational level: middle school, Ethiopian nationality, working as an African smuggler. During interrogation, he admitted that he is part of a gang of Ethiopians who kidnap, detain, torture, and blackmail Africans arriving in Yemen, and their detainees are only released. After paying the kidnapping amount (3000) Saudi riyals from each detainee.
After investigation and follow-up, the place of detention was determined, and a joint security campaign from the Shabwa Police and the 2nd Shabwa Defense Brigade moved to the Upper Egypt Junction. 30 people of Ethiopian nationality who were being held by the gang were released in a house near the Upper Egypt Junction point, and the gang members were arrested, namely (N. (M, Ali), (F, A, Saeed), (A, A, Ibrahim) and (N, A, Muhammad), all of Ethiopian nationality.
