Ataq International Airport received - this morning - the first flights belonging to the international organization Doctors Without Borders, which reflects the increasing importance that the airport is acquiring in serving the local and international community.
The Governor, Ibn Al-Wazir, expressed his great happiness and satisfaction with the resumption of flights for international organizations at Ataq International Airport, stressing that this event is a major achievement for the governorate, and an important step on the path to comprehensive and sustainable development, noting the strategic importance that Ataq International Airport represents, not only In facilitating the movement of travelers and alleviating their suffering, but also in enhancing Shabwa’s position as an attractive destination for investments and development projects and raising the level of commercial activity.
Governor Bin Al-Wazir drew attention to the great role played by the Presidential Command Council, the Presidency of the Government, His Excellency the Minister of Transport, and the Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in rehabilitating and operating Ataq International Airport, appreciating their great efforts in this regard, calling for the completion of procedures related to the resumption of commercial flights.
