In a step aimed at strengthening the infrastructure of Aden International Airport and developing its operational capabilities, a joint meeting was held between the Saudi side and the Yemeni Ministry of Transport to discuss the final arrangements for the airport development project.
This project, which enjoys great support from the Saudi programme, includes the construction of a new main runway for landing and take-off, which will enhance the airport’s ability to receive various types of aircraft, whether international or local flights.
In addition to the new runway, Saudi support will provide modern air navigation systems that are among the most modern in the world, which will contribute to improving the accuracy and safety of landing and take-off operations. This support is not limited only to the technical aspect, but also includes developing airport facilities and training human cadres, to ensure the operation of these systems with the highest possible efficiency.
This cooperation between the Saudi side and the Yemeni government comes within the framework of joint efforts to improve the civil aviation sector in Yemen, which enhances the role of Aden Airport as a main interface for the country and restores its vital position as an important center for air traffic in the region.
This project is considered part of a series of Saudi initiatives aimed at supporting stability and development in Yemen, by improving basic services and infrastructure.
