The Director General of Radum District, Mr. Hadi Saeed Al-Kharma, reviewed the damage caused to the solar energy system for the water project in the Hoora Al-Sahel region, as a result of the hurricane that recently affected the region.
This hurricane led to the entire system being destroyed and collapsing, causing the panels to separate from the fixing points and lose their connection to the battery network, which affected their efficiency and work.
During his visit, the Director General of the Directorate communicated with those in charge of the project, listening to information about the extent of the damage caused by the strong winds.
This project is considered the basic element for providing drinking water to the residents of the region, so the Director General seeks to find quick solutions to address this problem.
Director General Al-Kharma expressed his desire to submit a report on the damages to the Director-General of the General Authority for Rural Projects, Engineer Marwan Barwis, stressing that he will follow up on providing an alternative solar system for the project as soon as possible, given the potential suffering that the residents of the region will face in obtaining drinking water. In these difficult conditions, all 15 panels with a power of 300 watts and their accessories were damaged.
It is noteworthy that the local authority in the district had previously implemented a project to build a reservoir and dig a drinking water well in the Hura al-Sahel area, with the aim of improving water services in the area.
