This morning, a number of members of the Supreme Coordination Council of forcibly discharged military, security, and civilian retiree associations carried out a protest in front of the Ministry of Finance building in the capital, Aden, demanding the speedy implementation of presidential decisions and government directives related to the settlement of their salaries.
The protesters expressed their dissatisfaction with the delayed implementation of those decisions issued last year, which have not yet been implemented by the Ministry of Finance and the concerned authorities. They stressed that settling and disbursing their salaries urgently has become an urgent necessity, given the difficult living conditions they face, in light of the high prices and the deteriorating economic conditions that the country is going through.
The protesters indicated that they had spent their lives serving the nation for decades, and were the best defenders of its sovereignty and protectors of its security and stability. They expressed their regret at the repeated promises made by the Ministry of Finance without being implemented, demanding the speedy settlement of their human rights benefits, which were approved by presidential decisions, stressing that they deserve more care and attention in return for the sacrifices they have made to the nation.
