The technical teams of the implementing agency, the “General Corporation for Roads and Bridges”, funded and supervised by the Roads and Bridges Maintenance Fund, main center - the capital, Aden, and under the directives of the Ministry of Public Works and Roads, were able to open a path in the surface bridge of Wadi Benaa, located in the Zanzibar Circle in Abyan Governorate, shortly after The inauguration of the work to begin opening the track, which took place in the presence of Engineer Moeen Muhammad Al-Mas, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Governor of Abyan Governorate, Major General Abu Bakr Hussein Salem.
Urgently, the vehicles were able to open a road for the passage of heavy trucks and cars, whose passage was hindered by the remnants of the floods and the damage that struck the bridge, amid the applause of the citizens who praised the quick efforts and action by Engineer Moeen Al-Mas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Road and Bridge Maintenance Fund, the main center in the capital, Aden, in Business financing and direct supervision in opening the road.
Engineer Moeen emphasized everyone’s keenness to confront the challenges and work with the available capabilities to provide services to the citizens who benefit from the road, and work to protect lives from being exposed to danger due to the damage that befell the road.
He thanked the leadership of the local authority, represented by the Governor of Abyan Governorate, Major General Abu Bakr Salem, and his efforts in coordination and cooperation to begin work on treating the road and opening a lane on the ring road in Zanzibar, noting the continued efforts in emergency interventions and road maintenance following weather depressions, while working to implement Maintenance and road rehabilitation projects for roads and bridges with special needs.
It is worth mentioning that the ability to open the road came 8 hours after its inauguration, to begin emergency intervention work on the road and open a path to enable the passage of citizens and their vehicles and walk safely and facilitate their arrival to their destinations.
