The Aden Electricity Corporation announced today, Monday, that 70% of diesel stations have been out of service due to running out of fuel.
The corporation said in a statement that the President PetroMasila station stopped service due to running out of fuel, which led to a power outage in large areas of the city.
She added that the remaining fuel is almost enough to operate the power plants for specific hours, which will plunge the city into complete darkness if they stop serving.
The Corporation appealed to the Presidential Leadership Council and the Prime Minister to intervene urgently to provide fuel for power stations, stressing that it had previously appealed to the concerned authorities, but unfortunately they are being ignored and not dealt with seriously.
The power outage caused great suffering to citizens, as some of them were forced to resort to using private electric generators, which cost them large sums.
The Presidential Command Council and its government failed to solve the Aden electricity problem, adding to the records of its failure to address many crises in the southern and Yemeni governorates.
