The Governor of Shabwa Governorate, Chairman of the Local Council, Sheikh Awad Muhammad Ibn al-Wazir, met with the Director-General of the Office of Planning and International Cooperation in the governorate, Dr. Omar Bahamid, during which the office’s activities and its work plan for the current year were discussed, and the level of implementation of development projects in the governorate was discussed.
The Governor, Ibn al-Wazir, stressed the importance of the role played by the Planning Office in developing development plans and programs that meet the needs of citizens, stressing the need to focus on priority projects in service areas, such as health, education, water, sanitation, and roads.
The governor called for redoubling efforts and cooperation with various government agencies, international organizations and donors, with the aim of attracting more investments and development projects to the governorate, in addition to working to raise the level of coordination between the various concerned parties to ensure that Shabwa Governorate receives its fair share of donor funds for projects. Developmental.
For his part, the Director General of the Office of Planning and International Cooperation reviewed the results of the office’s participation in the analytical workshop for the integrated phase classification of food insecurity, and the results of classifying the governorate’s indicators accordingly.
Bahmid stressed the importance of these results in directing efforts towards addressing the problems facing the agricultural and food sector in the governorate, noting that these results will contribute to developing plans and programs to meet the food needs of the governorate and enhance food security in it.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Bahmid expressed his appreciation for the interest and care given by the local authority headed by the Governor, Ibn al-Wazir, with the aim of achieving sustainable development for the governorate and improving the level of services provided to citizens.
