Aden police said that the bridge explosion was caused by an offensive bomb detonated by a person while he was joking with his friends in an incident they described as reckless with weapons.

According to the Yemeni Interior Ministry website, 3 young men were injured in an incident of tampering with a hand grenade on the Khor Maksar-Aden sub-sea road. 

The Aden capital police said that the three young men, aged between 22 and 26 years, were injured in an incident of tampering with an American-made hand grenade. 

Explaining that the unfortunate incident occurred when the so-called (A, A, A, M), 22 years old, was jokingly playing with his friends with an offensive bomb, which led to it exploding and wounding him with shrapnel in various parts of his body, with his right hand cut off, and (A, K, A, Nasser, 23 years old, was injured by shrapnel throughout his body, and (A, A, A, M), 26 years old, was injured by shrapnel in the abdomen, chest, and feet. 

Noting that it took the injured to the hospital to receive treatment, while placing a tight security guard on the accused in the case pending legal procedures, attributing the causes of the incident to tampering with weapons, bullying, and indifference to the law and the lives of others
