The Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, met today, Sunday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, with the leadership of the Qatar Fund for Development, headed by the Fund’s Acting Director General, Sultan Al-Asiri.
According to the government agency Saba, during the meeting, cooperation between the Yemeni government and the Qatar Fund for Development in the fields of development, services and humanity was discussed, in addition to discussing future interventions that are in line with the government’s priorities, especially in the electricity sector.
The meeting also discussed the projects currently being implemented, and coordination mechanisms to identify the needs of priority sectors for urgent support, including climate change adaptation programmes.
The Prime Minister listened to the plans of the Qatar Fund for Development regarding determining support priorities in Yemen, with a focus on enhancing electricity production capabilities using less expensive economic alternatives.
For his part, Dr. Bin Mubarak expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Qatar Fund for Development in implementing projects that support improving the living conditions of citizens. He also pointed out the importance of revitalizing economic sectors and investing in mineral resources to achieve investment partnerships that contribute to improving the national economy.
The meeting was attended by the Yemeni Ambassador to Qatar, Rajeh Badi, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, Engineer Anis Baharitha, and the Prime Minister’s Advisor, Ambassador Mujib Othman.
