The President of the Supreme Judicial Council held a meeting that included the Minister of State and Governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and members of the State Real Estate and Lands Authority, to discuss the possibility of allocating space to establish an integrated judicial complex in the city of Aden.
The meeting, which was attended by the President of the Supreme Court, Judge Dr. Ali Al-Awash, and the Secretary-General of the Council, Judge Dr. Ali Atboush, and Council member Judge Sabah Al-Alwani, stressed the importance of providing a strategic location that contributes to strengthening the infrastructure of the judicial authority, facilitates the litigation process and serves citizens better.
During the meeting, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council praised the efforts made by the local authority in Aden to facilitate vital projects that contribute to improving the work of judicial institutions.
He stressed that the presence of a modern and advanced judicial complex is an important step towards enhancing the efficiency of the judiciary and the speed of deciding cases, which enhances confidence in the justice system and reduces the challenges facing the judiciary in light of the current conditions.
For his part, the governor of the capital, Aden, praised the interest of the Supreme Judicial Council in building this complex, noting that the project will contribute to relieving pressure on the current courts, and constitutes a great addition to the judicial infrastructure in the city.
The governor also affirmed the local authority’s commitment to facilitating the necessary procedures for allocating the land, and jointly searching for financing for the project.
The State Real Estate and Land Authority presented proposals about potential sites for establishing the complex, noting the need to choose a suitable location that serves all segments of society and is capable of accommodating future expansions.
The Authority confirmed that it will work in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the speedy identification of the site and the initiation of legal and technical procedures related to the project.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to form a joint committee that includes representatives of the Supreme Judicial Council, Aden Governorate, and the Real Estate Authority to follow up on executive procedures and submit the necessary reports on the progress of work.
