The Governor of Shabwa Governorate, Awad Muhammad bin Al-Wazir, discussed today, Tuesday, with a delegation from the Civil Aviation Authority, the restarting of Ataq International Airport.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the most important issues and requirements necessary for restarting operation, including rehabilitating the airport runway and its equipment, modernizing air navigation systems, and providing safety and security requirements.
Governor Bin Al-Wazir confirmed the readiness of the local authority to provide full support to the Civil Aviation Authority to complete the necessary requirements to restart the airport.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Civil Aviation Authority delegation made an inspection tour of the airport, to see the progress of work in implementing the requirements necessary for restarting operation.
