The Undersecretary of the Capital of Aden for Youth Affairs, Mr. Abdul Raouf Zain Al-Saqqaf, met with the management of the SOS Foundation for Development, represented by Mr. Majid Qasim, Executive Director, and Mr. Muhammad Al-Qirbi, Assistant Project Coordinator, to discuss the projects and interventions carried out by the Foundation.
The meeting discussed debate skills training, which comes within the project “Strengthening Civic Space for Comprehensive Development and Empowering Civil Society Organizations,” funded by the European Union. This training targeted youth representatives from the government and civil society organizations.
The Foundation is also preparing to organize a public debate event that brings together representatives of civil society organizations and youth from government agencies, under the patronage of the Minister of State and Governor of the capital, Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and under the supervision of the Undersecretary of the Capital for Youth Affairs. The event aims to create a dialogue platform for exchanging ideas and best practices to achieve sustainable development.
The meeting also touched on preparations for the event of reviewing working papers related to the women, security and peace agenda, which comes within a project funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event aims to enhance the participation of women and youth and provide recommendations to empower the roles of local authorities, civil society organizations and the private sector in supporting the women and peace agenda.
