Within the interest of the leadership of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, represented by the Airports Sector, to operate and maintain the readiness of all the Republic’s airports, the Authority assigned a technical team headed by the Director General of Technical Equipment in the Airports Sector, Engineer Ahmed Badr Al-Kasadi, to complete the readiness of the technical equipment at Ataq International Airport in Shabwa Governorate.
The technical team installed and programmed the airline counters in the departure hall, and installed a VHF communications device for fire engines and the control tower, in addition to maintaining the security devices and gates in the halls.
It should be noted that Ataq Airport was restarted at the beginning of this month, after it stopped receiving flights for a long period, as a translation of the efforts made by the leadership of the Ministry of Transport, represented by His Excellency the Minister, Dr. Abdul Salam Hamid, and a culmination of the efforts of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, represented by Captain Saleh bin Nahid, President. The Authority, in addition to the efforts of the leadership of the local authority in Shabwa Governorate.
