The National Center of Meteorology in Yemen expected, on Sunday, partly cloudy weather with the possibility of scattered rain over large areas of the country.
The National Center indicated that the weather is clear to partly cloudy, turning to cloudy during the day, and the opportunity is ripe for rainfall of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by thunder, in separate areas of the governorates of “Taiz, Al-Dhale’, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah and Saada,” extending westward to include Parts of the highlands and the Tihama Plain, and scattered rain on parts of the highlands of “Sanaa, Amran, Lahj, Al-Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa Hadhramaut, and Al-Mahra.”
In the coastal areas, forecasts forecast partly cloudy weather with the possibility of scattered rain on parts of the eastern, southern and western coasts, and the winds are very strong around the Socotra Archipelago, reaching a maximum speed of more than 40 knots, and moderate to brisk winds on the eastern and southern coasts.
It is also expected that the weather in the desert areas will be clear to partly cloudy and hot during the day, with moderate-speed winds that are active at times, stirring up dust and sand.
Meteorology warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to fall in the depths of valleys and flood paths, and to take shelter from thunderstorms.
He also warned vehicle drivers on mountain roads of the decline in horizontal visibility due to rain and low clouds.
He also warned seafarers and fishermen of turbulent seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, and the southern and eastern coasts.
