Al-Houthi allocates a huge sum of money for birthday celebrations in only two districts in Sanaa

The Houthi militia allocated huge sums of money amounting to $150,000 to commemorate the celebrations of the Prophet’s Birthday in Al-Wahda and Ma’in districts only in Sana’a.
According to local sources reported by Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the financial allocations are equivalent to 81 million Yemeni riyals in the old currency and 286 million riyals in the new currency.
In a related context, these huge sums have sparked widespread criticism from citizens, who suffer from deteriorating economic conditions in light of the ongoing war and deteriorating living conditions.
