The National Center of Meteorology expects a rain wave accompanied by thunderstorms and blowing winds to hit the western governorates during the coming hours.
The center said in its warning bulletin, Monday, that heavy thunderstorms will fall on the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhalea, Lahj, and Raymah, extending to include the highlands and the Tihama Plain.
The center indicated that scattered rain would continue to fall on the northern and eastern governorates of Sana’a, Amran, Hajjah, Amran, Saada, Hodeidah, Shabwa, and Hadramaut, extending to the Socotra Archipelago during the next 24 hours.
The Center renewed its warnings to residents to avoid being in the depths of valleys and flood paths during and after rainfall, in addition to thunderstorms, and strong downward winds that stir up dust and sand in coastal and desert areas.
The climate warning also included rock and mud slides on mountain slopes and mud buildings, with an emphasis on vehicle drivers to be careful on mountain roads due to low horizontal visibility due to rainfall and low cloud condensation.
