The Minister of State and Governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, today inaugurated a number of development and service projects in the Khormaksar District, accompanied by the Director-General of the District, Awas al-Zuhri. The projects that were opened and work began included the sectors of education, infrastructure, and sports facilities, which reflects the remarkable progress in the wheel of development within the directorate.
Among the most prominent projects that were inaugurated are: building additional classrooms in Khormaksar schools and kindergartens, installing solar energy systems in several educational institutions, in addition to projects to rehabilitate sewage networks and expand water supplies in the district’s neighborhoods. Work was also launched on a project to build a new school and rehabilitate sports facilities, in addition to projects to improve road infrastructure.
During the opening ceremony, Governor Lamlas praised the efforts made by the leadership of the local authority and the executive work team in the directorate, stressing the importance of teamwork in achieving successes, and stressing that the directorate’s revenues have become capable of financing vital projects without the need for central support. He explained that these projects represent the beginning of a new phase of sustainable development that seeks to improve public services and meet the needs of citizens.
The opening ceremony was attended by a number of local officials, including Amjad Al-Husseini, Deputy Director of the Aden Governor’s Office, and the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Khormaksar, Munir Al-Qutaybi, along with directors of the executive offices in the Directorate.
