The Minister of Agriculture, Salem Al-Soqatri, visited today, Thursday, Ali Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and Speaker of the National Assembly.

He presented to Al-Kathiri the nature of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the agricultural and fishery sectors, the Ministry’s controls for the import and export operations, controlling random markets, and rehabilitating fish landing centers.

The meeting touched on the plans of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation in projects to build dams and water barriers in a number of governorates, follow up on their implementation, and follow up on contracts with embassies of donor countries that pledged to support projects on the agricultural and fisheries sides.

Al-Kathiri appreciated the Ministry’s efforts and the size of the projects it is implementing, stressing the support of the Council, headed by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, and the National Assembly, for the Ministry of Agriculture, to enhance its success.
