Lieutenant Colonel Mayas Haidara, Director of Narcotics Control in the Security Belt Forces, explained that the quantity that was destroyed included 290 kilograms of hashish, in addition to 5 kilograms of shabu (methamphetamine), noting that these quantities were seized in 19 cases. Haidara confirmed that the destruction operation that took place today is the tenth in a series of similar operations carried out by the Security Belt forces during the past four years, which witnessed the destruction of more than four tons of narcotic substances, indicating that these operations come within the framework of ongoing efforts to combat drugs that It is directly led by the Commander-in-Chief, Brigadier General Mohsen El-Wali.
The Director of Narcotics Control expressed his concern about the increasing drug threat in Aden and the south in general, as he pointed out that the region has recently become deliberately targeted by drug traffickers, who are seeking to transform it from a “transit” station as it was before.
