The General Meteorological Authority warned of heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and blowing winds in a number of Yemeni governorates during the coming hours.
The National Meteorological Center explained in its weather bulletin that there are expectations of heavy rains accompanied by hailstones and blowing winds. In the governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Al-Hudaydah, and the Tihama Plain, warning citizens in these areas of the possible repercussions of heavy rains, such as the formation of torrential rains and rising water levels in valleys and reefs.
The center also indicated that parts of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, and Al-Mahwit Sana'a, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, Al-Dhalea, Lahj and Abyan will witness thunderstorms of varying intensity, calling on citizens in these areas to take caution and follow safety instructions.
The center pointed out that there is a possibility of scattered rain in the governorates of Shabwa, Hadramaut and Al-Mahra. He stressed that the meteorological teams are constantly monitoring the weather conditions and updating weather forecasts periodically.
According to the latest measurements, meteorological stations recorded rainfall amounting to 2.7 mm in Hodeidah, 5.2 mm in Hajjah, 4.5 mm in Ibb-Al-Sadda, And 3.3 mm in Taiz during the past hours.
Parts of the mountainous highlands in the governorates of Al-Bayda, Raymah, Lahj and Abyan witnessed thunderstorm rains that ranged between moderate and heavy, and these rains also extended to the internal plateaus, the Tihama Plain, and the western coasts.
