Mukhtar Al-Yafei, Vice President of the National Southern Media Authority, met today at the Authority’s headquarters in the capital, Aden, with veteran southern media personality, Asmahan Azazi.
In the meeting, Al-Yafei praised the activist and media roles of his colleague Asmahan in supporting the cause of the people of the South since the beginnings of the peaceful movement and her media activity on the Aden Live channel, as she was one of the first voices to speak out about the cause of the South.
Al-Yafei stressed that the militant role played by the journalist Asmahan in the various stages of the southern struggle until the establishment of the Transitional Council embodies the active role of southern women and their sacrifice of lives for the sake of the just cause of our people, as they were at the forefront of the ranks in the liberation and peaceful struggle.
Al-Yafei expressed interest and appreciation for the southern women activists and provided all means of support and care in a way that contributes to strengthening their presence in the southern scene today as we take important steps towards achieving the aspirations of our people in the south.
For her part, the journalist and activist Asmahan Azazi expressed her interest and appreciation for the development of the southern media, most notably the establishment of the National Southern Media Authority and its role in keeping pace with the political struggle being waged by the Southern Transitional Council in order to achieve the aspirations of our people in building a civil and federal state.
