The security department of Qalansiyah and Abd al-Kuri district and the Coast Guard forces in the district rescued 30 passengers from drowning after water leaked into a fiberglass ship they were on board.
The director of the Coast Guard branch in the governorate, Captain Saeed Ahmed Muhammad, said that Qalansiyah Security and the Coastal Drilling Center received a distress call from Fiberglass, about 9 nautical miles from the city of Qalansiyah, west of northern Socotra, requesting the speedy rescue of the ship’s passengers due to a water leak in it and fear. of its sinking, explaining that the ship was coming from the port of Al-Shihr in Hadramaut Governorate to Socotra, carrying 30 citizens from the governorate.
He added that after receiving the call, boats were moved to the fiberglass site and the passengers were transported via boats to the coast of the city of Qalansiyah, and they are in good health, while the ship and its crew continued sailing towards the port of Hulaf.
