Six people died, including a woman, due to thunderbolts, in separate incidents in Lahj Governorate.
Local sources said, “The heavy rains witnessed in the Al-Mazaraba District, the plains of Abu Al-Asrar soil, caused the death of 6 people, including a woman, within 15 days.”
On a related note, 35 goats died at once yesterday, Saturday, as a result of a thunderbolt that accompanied the rains that fell on the countryside of Taiz Governorate.
Local sources said, “A thunderbolt caused the death of a head of sheep belonging to their owners, Al-Salal Al-Qahzi, in the Maqbanah District, Al-Aqhouz District, Al-Farirah Village,” while the owner of the sheep was taken to a hospital near the area.
During the recent period, thunderbolts in Yemen caused the fall and injury of dozens of people and the death of thousands of sheep and animals in a number of governorates, coinciding with the heavy rainy season witnessed throughout the country.
