The campaign targeted the removal of separate slums in the Al-Arish area in Jewar Unit (611-614), in addition to the removal of slums in the Al-Khor Walk area, which was used by gunmen to prevent work teams from completing construction of the walkway.
Awas al-Zuhri, the mayor of Khor Maksar Directorate, said, “The directives of the Minister of State, Governor of the Capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, are clear regarding the removal of slums, and that efforts are being made in this matter with close follow-up by His Excellency the Minister of State, Governor of the Capital, Aden.”
He added, "The Land Protection Unit, along with the obstacles, was able to remove many slums on this day, stressing its continuation in the fight against slum settlement, thanking the forces of the Land Protection Unit for their prominent role, which confirmed that since Kamal Al-Halmi took over the leadership of this unit, slums have decreased significantly."
