Within the framework of enhancing cooperation between the judicial and security authorities in Lahj Governorate, this morning Brigadier General Nasser Al-Shouhti, Director of Security of Lahj Governorate, received Judge Anis Nasser Ali, Head of the Specialized Criminal Prosecution, and Judge Abdullah Nasser Al-Aswar, Deputy Specialized Criminal Prosecution, on an inspection visit. It included the central prison and the anti-terrorism prison.
The visit aimed to follow up on the conditions of prisoners detained pending specialized criminal prosecution cases, and to determine their legal and living conditions. Brigadier General Al-Shouhti accompanied the guests on a field tour inside the Security Department, the Central Prison, and the Anti-Terrorism Prison, where they met with a number of prisoners, listened to their cases, and assessed the level of progress of legal procedures related to them.
Judge Anis Nasser Ali praised the great efforts made by the Director of Security, Brigadier General Nasser Al-Shouhti, in the prison administration and the good treatment of prisoners, stressing that this visit comes within the framework of continuous cooperation between the security and judicial authorities with the aim of achieving justice and speedy resolution of pending cases.
For his part, Brigadier General Al-Shouhti stressed that the Lahj Security Administration pays great attention to the conditions of prisons and prisoners, and seeks, in coordination with the specialized criminal prosecution, to facilitate legal procedures and guarantee the rights of all prisoners in accordance with the applicable laws, indicating that this visit constitutes an important step to enhance joint cooperation between Security and judicial agencies.
This visit comes in the context of efforts made to improve prison conditions and provide the necessary solutions to issues related to prisoners awaiting the completion of their legal procedures, thus contributing to strengthening the role of the law and achieving justice in the governorate.
