Cancer cases have increased in Taiz Governorate since the current year 2024.

An official source in the Taiz Health Office said: “The health authorities have detected 910 cases of cancer in the most populous governorate in Yemen since the beginning of this year, including 290 cases of breast cancer, which constitute nearly a third of the cases.”

He revealed the reason for the spread of breast cancer to the lack of early diagnosis and treatment by those infected and ignorance of the nature of the disease, as well as other factors related to the lack of capabilities of citizens to pay attention to health and conduct periodic examinations, and the distance of specialized health centers.

The source directed citizens, both male and female, to interact positively with the pink campaign for breast cancer prevention implemented by the National Cancer Control Foundation in the governorate, and to be sure to conduct periodic examinations to reduce the risks of this disease, which can be cured if the patient is cared for early.
