The Office of Industry and Trade in Al-Mokha, Taiz Governorate, seized a quantity of seeds, fertilizers and agricultural pesticides that are not suitable for agricultural use and are harmful to the onion planting season in the region.
Khaled Al-Barakani, Director of the Office of Industry and Trade in Mokha, reported that 500 containers of expired fertilizers and pesticides, and about 800 kilograms of spoiled seeds, were seized, all related to onion cultivation, which were displayed in agricultural stores and offices in the directorate.
Al-Barakani confirmed that the seized quantities posed a threat to the onion planting season that began in the coastal districts, as some merchants and agricultural offices tried to exploit farmers to sell them those products and seeds that threaten the soil and crops.
While Al-Barakani warned merchants against exploiting the agricultural seasons to pass on spoiled materials and seeds, he stressed the continuation of inspection campaigns to monitor all commercial activities in the directorate, arrest violators, and confiscate violating materials, whether food or agricultural, and other materials that threaten the life of citizens.
