A girl was killed, nine people from one family were injured, and a house was completely destroyed, as a result of a gas cylinder explosion in one of the towns of Al-Qafr District, north of Ibb Governorate (central Yemen).
Local sources said that a gas cylinder exploded yesterday, Tuesday, in the home of citizen “Rafiq Murshid Farea Al-Maghribi” in the Rababa area, the center of Al-Qafr District, north of Ibb.
The sources added that the explosion caused the death of a girl named “Lina Rafiq Al-Maghrabi” and injured her father, her mother, her brothers (Shamekh, Laima, Muslim, Murshid), her uncle Riyad, his son Atef, and another member of the family called “Mishaal Tawfiq Al-Moazabi.”
Sources confirmed that the incident caused the complete destruction of the house, including its furniture and possessions.
The incident comes at a time when the Houthi militia continues to flood local markets in the governorate and the rest of the governorates under its control with damaged cylinders, the accidents of which over the past years have caused the death and injury of dozens.
