The technical teams at the General Corporation for Telecommunications, Al-Mahra Governorate Branch, began their tasks of repairing the damage caused by the rains and torrential rains resulting from the tropical situation (Tej) in the communications network in the district of Haswain, which led to it being out of service and the interruption of communications, in implementation of the directives of the governor of the governorate, Mr. Muhammad Ali Yasser. , urgent matter regarding accelerating the restoration of all services, including communications and the Internet.
The Director General of the Corporation’s branch, Engineer Muhammad Musallam Bakrit, indicated that the communications station in Saqr in the Haswain District has been operated, and work is underway to complete the repair of faults in the rest of the districts of the District, in addition to inspecting and evaluating the Dabut and Nashtoun stations in the Al-Ghaydah District, as a first step after the roads were opened. And the four tunnels, noting that the Communications Corporation was the first to arrive to inspect the damage in the Huswain District, where the communications infrastructure was subjected to major destruction, towers fell, and fiber cables were cut to a very large extent.
He added: Technical solutions have been studied, even if temporarily, so that citizens can communicate.
Bakrit pointed out that the technical teams are ready and working continuously after the roads are opened, praising the great support provided by His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Ali Yasser and his overcoming of all difficulties, which contributes to the speedy restoration of communications service to all affected areas.
Engineer Bakrit reassured citizens in the affected areas that the Telecommunications Corporation is making great efforts despite the great destruction that befell it, and that engineers and technicians are making double efforts at work, stressing that the communications sector has suffered severe damage to its system at the level of the districts that were struck by the hurricane.
