The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said on Thursday that it had received a report of an incident 70 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni port of Hodeidah, adding that authorities were investigating.
The Houthis from Yemen have carried out nearly 100 attacks on ships crossing the Red Sea since November and say their operations are aimed at supporting Palestinians in Gaza in their year-long war with Israel. Their attacks sank two ships, captured another, and killed at least four sailors.
The authority stated in its statement that the captain of a ship reported that it was hit by three missiles and that it was damaged, but no fire or human casualties were detected.
The statement stated that reports indicate that the crew members are fine and that the ship continues sailing to the next port of call.
