Deputy Director General of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Aden Governorate, Engineer Bilal Al-Shaabi, today inspected the progress of work in water well drilling projects in the Bir Ahmed field in Aden, which is implemented by the Ali Abu Bakr Al-Sulaimani Foundation for Drilling Artesian Wells.
Al-Shaabi was briefed by the Director General of Water Fields, Engineer Kamel Al-Hamami, on the progress of work in the project of drilling and rehabilitating 10 wells in the Bir Ahmed field using renewable energy in Aden Governorate, which is being implemented with a bilateral contribution from the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and the Silah Foundation for Development.
Al-Shabi also reviewed the level of completion in the project of drilling 10 artesian wells at a cost of one and a half million US dollars, funded and supervised by the Direct Aid Organization in the sisterly State of Kuwait.
Deputy Director of the Aden Water Corporation, Engineer Bilal Al-Shaabi, stressed the importance of water well drilling projects in enhancing water production in the Ahmed well field... pointing to the near completion of drilling two wells that will be put into service in the coming days, which will contribute to the water field continuing to operate. For a longer period and to cover the water needs of the Aden Governorate districts.
Al-Shaabi appreciated the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait for the water sector through the implementation of water-related projects such as drilling wells, installing a solar energy system, and supplying pumps and equipment.
