Fahmi Hassan Ahmed Youssef, Dean of the College of Education, Aden, organized a cultural symposium on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution, entitled: “ The first signs of the October 14 Revolution and the launch of the armed struggle in 1963, headed by A. Participant Dr. Maree Mubarak Barbaa, in the presence of Ambassador Qasim Askar, Dr. Labid Al-Jabri, Dr. Al-Saqqaf Hisham, and Dr. Hadi Al-Awlaki.
At the beginning of the symposium, Ambassador Qasim Askar Gibran delivered a speech welcoming all attendees, congratulating the southern people on the 61st anniversary of the glorious October Revolution, which was a torch to illuminate freedom, dignity and justice, noting the importance of this cultural symposium entitled “Indicators since the outbreak of the first spark of the October 14, 1963 Revolution.”< /p>
It played an important role in the success of the armed struggle, and contributed to waging various forms of liberation political struggle, recalling the importance of that revolutionary phase and the revolutionary political transformations that followed it and the subsequent shift towards building the state of the South.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Maree Barbaa, Head of the Department of History at the College of Education in Aden, addressed the importance of the first precursors of the October 14 Revolution and the launch of the armed struggle in 1963 AD, which achieved its goals after four years of armed struggle and continuous sacrifices with victory and the expulsion of British colonialism from all the lands of South Arabia and the declaration Independence is the establishment of the independent southern state, explaining that since the start of the armed struggle in 1963 AD against the British colonial occupation of Aden for 139 years, which imposed a protection agreement on the sultans and sheikhdoms of South Arabia at that time, this colonialism... even though its period of presence on our land was long, it did not live calmly throughout this period. Duration: Our people have faced him from their first day on our land with violent resistance. Its forms took many forms over intermittent periods of time, and therefore the papers of this symposium in the first axis will be the first precursors of the October Revolution, while the second axis will be devoted to the launch of the armed struggle against the British presence in 1963.
The symposium also included many interventions, about the precursors of the glorious October 14 Revolution, which was preceded by precursors in various areas of the cities of southern Yemen, a large student and trade union protest movement, and secret organizations that adopted armed struggle to confront the British occupation.
