The Minister of Local Administration, Hussein Al-Aghbari, discussed with the head of the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency, Suha Ryanto, who is currently visiting Yemen, ways to strengthen the relations of the two countries and the agency’s humanitarian interventions.
In the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Information Hussein Baslim, the Secretary-General of the Local Council of Aden Governorate, Badr Assistant, and the head of the Executive Unit for the Displaced Persons, Najeeb Al-Saadi, decrees were signed to receive humanitarian aid, provided by the sisterly Indonesian government, for those affected by the floods in Hodeidah Governorate, which is estimated at approximately (60) tons at a cost of one million dollars.
Minister Al-Aghbari appreciated the great support of the government and people of Indonesia for this aid... stressing the depth of the historical relations that bind the two brotherly countries and peoples... praising the prominent role of Indonesia in supporting the Yemeni people in these difficult circumstances.
For his part, the head of the Indonesian National Disaster Management Agency affirmed his country’s solidarity with the Yemeni people, explaining that humanitarian aid includes relief materials, camps, shelter materials, and food supplements provided by the people and government of Indonesia to the people of Hodeidah Governorate, indicating his country’s readiness for cooperation and coordination. Joint efforts to expand the base of humanitarian aid and development and purposeful programmes, to assist and rehabilitate the Yemeni people.
