Coast Guard forces seized an Iranian ship carrying more than 4 tons of drugs off Al-Mahra Governorate.
A source in the Coast Guard said that the forces were able to seize a ship in the town of “Sayhut” in Al-Mahra Governorate, carrying more than 4 tons of (narcotic hashish).
The source explained that the ship was seized in the southern territorial waters with 5 sailors on board who spoke the Pakistani language, and they were handed over to the concerned authorities, in accordance with the instructions of the provincial leadership.
The source indicated that it is believed that the shipment was destined for the Houthi militia, especially since it was seized on a smuggling route that the Houthi militia frequently uses to smuggle drugs and weapons.
The source confirmed that investigations are still ongoing to find out more details. .
While the police in the governorate continue the investigation process to find out the fate of a sixth member who was accompanying the arrested sailors.
