Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Wednesday, at Ma’ashiq Palace, the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Russian Federation Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Kinshak, and his accompanying delegation.
Alimi welcomed the Russian delegation visiting the temporary capital, Aden, as part of efforts to revive joint ministerial committees and strengthen bilateral relations, including resuming the work of the Moscow embassy in Aden.
Alimi praised the long-standing relations between Yemen and Russia, stressing the importance of resuming the embassy in advancing bilateral relations and strengthening the unity of the international community to support the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
In a related context, Al-Alimi received the credentials of the Ambassador of the Republic of Romania, George Christian Mayor, who conveyed the greetings of the Romanian leadership and its wishes for peace and stability to Yemen.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations, especially in the educational field, and developments in the Yemeni situation.
The meetings were attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shaye’ Al-Zindani, the Director of the Office of the Head of the Presidential Command Council, Major General Saleh Al-Maqaleh, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy in Yemen, Yevgeny Kordov, and the Head of Presidential Protocol and Ceremonies, Muhammad Haj Mahfouz.
