In his speech during a tribal meeting in front of the local authority building in Lahj, Major General Ahmed Al Turki addressed the events of the storming that the building was subjected to by a number of officers, who tried to clash with the forces charged with protecting the building, and they raised the flag of the south.
Al-Turki expressed his pride in the southern flag, saying: “The southern flag is the flag of all of us, and under this flag we fought, and our fathers and grandfathers fought, and it is a matter of pride for all of us.”
Al-Turki stressed that the meeting is not just a tribal gathering, but rather a gathering of people from Lahj from different regions. He stated: "We are not facing a tribal or regional dispute, but rather a dispute with four officers who lost their personal interests, so they turned into thugs to create chaos in Lahj and destabilize security."
Al-Turki confirmed that the governorate’s leadership will hold a meeting to discuss the incident, and an investigation has been opened into the incident, indicating that deterrent legal measures will be taken against those who caused this chaos.
The Governor of Lahj concluded his speech with a clear message: “Hello the state, and goodbye to bullying.”
