Today, Friday, the Executive Office in Lahj Governorate held an emergency meeting headed by the governor of the governorate, Major General Ahmed Turki, and in the presence of the advisor to the head of the Presidential Command Council for Defense and Security Affairs, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, and the Secretary-General of the local council in the governorate, Awad Al-Salahi, to confront the repercussions of the storming incident. The meeting, which included the governorate’s undersecretary, Brigadier General Abdel Fattah Haitham, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim, and the governorate’s director general of police, Brigadier General Nasser Al-Shouhti, approved the arrest of the intruders and referring them for investigation to take deterrent legal measures against them.
The meeting also approved the referral of one of the governorate’s agents for investigation against the backdrop of incitement to storm the headquarters of the local authority, attacking the Athletes’ Festival, preventing him from holding the activities of the Lahj Development Forum, and submitting the results of the investigation to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Local Administration.
At its meeting, the Executive Office approved the decisions taken by the Director General of Police in the governorate against a number of officers and security personnel involved in the incident of attacking the headquarters of the local authority and disturbing public peace.
At the meeting, Governor Turki said: “Our message is clear, and we do not have any disagreements with any region, and everyone must work to preserve the social fabric, and the measures that were taken against the attackers on the local authority building in the governorate are within the framework of the law, And a regular, regular procedure.”
For his part, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi stressed that Lahj throughout its history is one unit and its men are always and forever in one trench to face all challenges and crucial national issues.
