The Undersecretary of Hadramaut Governorate, Mr. Hassan Salem Al-Jilani, witnessed, at the headquarters of the Silah Development Foundation in Mukalla, the signing of agreements to implement the first phase of the project of drilling 13 wells in Hadramaut Governorate (the coast and the valley), as part of the project to enhance water security using renewable energy that was signed in The Saudi capital, Riyadh, last May 2024 AD, in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Water, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, the Governor of Hadhramaut, the Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, and the General Supervisor of the Saudi program.
At the signing ceremony, Agent Al-Jilani conveyed the greetings of the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, noting that this project represents an important step in strengthening water security in Hadhramaut Governorate, as it will contribute to improving the quality of life for more than 445 thousand direct beneficiaries, in addition to 1.7 One million indirect beneficiaries, calling for the importance of making the most of these resources through renewable energy technologies, which ensure the sustainability of water provision.”
The agent Al-Jilani appreciated the efforts of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen and the Silah Development Foundation, in making the agreement successful, which includes the implementation of integrated solar energy projects with a production capacity of up to 836 kilowatts, through the installation of 1,390 solar panels, using modern technology in the field of solar energy, with the aim of enhancing the efficiency of... Wells and ensuring the continuity of water supply even in the most difficult circumstances.
For his part, the Executive Director of the Silah Foundation for Development, Mr. Ali Hassan Bashmakh, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Saudi Development Program and the Reconstruction of Yemen for their support of sustainable development projects within the framework of the effective partnership between the program and the Silah Foundation, which contributes to serving development in Hadramaut Governorate.
The signing ceremony was attended by: representatives of the Saudi program, the Deputy Director General of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in the Coast, Engineer Jalal Al-Akbari, the Deputy Director of the Rural Water Authority in the Coast, Engineer Salah Badros, and a number of other government agencies.
