The Iranian-backed Houthi militia, internationally classified as a terrorist group, acknowledged the killing of three of its members in battles with Yemeni government forces.
As usual, the militia did not specify the exact place or time of the killing of these members, contenting itself with announcing their funeral in the capital, Sanaa, which is controlled by the group.
Houthi media reported that the three dead participated in battles against government forces, and their bodies were buried in an official ceremony, although no further details were disclosed about the circumstances of their deaths.
Reports indicated that the dead were impersonating military ranks, and were:
Walid Yahya Shuai Al-Harbi, who is impersonating the rank of “first lieutenant.”
Shabab Saleh Rashid Al-Borai, who is impersonating the rank of “second lieutenant.”
Hamoud Ahmed Muhammad Al-Hamzi, who is impersonating the rank of “assistant”.
It is likely that these members were killed in clashes with government forces affiliated with the internationally recognized Yemeni government, amid a continuing escalation of military operations on multiple fronts in Yemen.
However, the Houthi militia continues to conceal the precise details about its losses, in light of the continuing battles that have caused the death and injury of thousands on both sides in recent years.
