The Iranian-backed Houthi militia continues to dig trenches and tunnels and booby-trap them throughout the length and breadth of the cities and districts of Hodeidah Governorate.
The spokesman for the Joint Forces on the West Coast, Lieutenant Colonel Wadah Al-Dubaish, said, “The Houthi militia has turned Hodeidah Governorate into a military barracks and a time bomb, by creating complex and deep trenches, tunnels, and basements in length and width.”
Al-Dabish added to “Erm News,” that “the Houthis have recently doubled the holes, especially in Hodeidah, and the aim is to hide their heavy and specific weapons for launching missiles and drones.”
Al-Dubaish explained, “The Houthis may expect a ground landing of forces in the Guardian of Prosperity coalition led by America and Britain, at any time, or a field movement supported by the legitimate forces towards liberating Hodeidah, and through these operations they seek to dig trenches and create tunnels.” To plant mines and explosive devices in it, and to completely blow up the city if it feels that it is about to lose control of Hodeidah Governorate.”
He pointed out the existence of “long, deep and very wide secret tunnels, called water tunnels, whose beginning is in one of the locations inside the streets of Hodeidah city, and whose end is on the borders of the coasts and beaches of the sea, through which the Houthis can transport small unmanned boats and transport marine military machinery and equipment.” , to carry out attacks on commercial shipping ships, and these tunnels make it much easier for them.”
Al-Dabish confirmed, “The Houthi militia built an entire underground city, equipped with all military and living supplies, and that Iranian and Lebanese experts and elements are hiding in it.”
